Manifesto for St. James, “e-government Model”

Crime Free for Economic Development

1) The People shall govern

The people of St. James will work with their strong Citizen Association to achieve their community’s objectives.

2) All groups shall have equal rights

Churches, Youths, Senior Citizens, Mothers, Fathers

3) The people shall share in the Parish’s wealth

The people of St. James will benefit from the revenue derive from the Montego Bay International Airport, Hotels, Montego Bay Freeport, etc. situated in the Parish.

4) The land shall be shared among those who work it

Lands now under the control of the local and central government will be allotted to the people of St. James for farming and manufacturing in order to increase employment

5) All shall be equal before the law

The people of St. James will be represented by a public defender if needed. There will not be a law for the rich and a law for the poor

6) All shall enjoy equal rights

The people of St. James will be respected and will be govern by the international human rights law.

7) There shall be work and security

The people of St. James working in the hospitality industry must be allowed to accept tips, be paid in US currency and on par with the USA and enjoy all tax breaks afforded to others in the sector.

The people of St. James will be respected by the security forces and must be informed on new laws at monthly neighbourhood watch meetings

8) The doors of learning and culture shall be opened

The people of St. James will have free education and skills training.

9) There shall be houses and comfort

All Teachers, Doctors and Nurses working for the people of St. James will be provided with house and comfort in the Parish.

10) There shall be peace and friendship

The people of St. James working as one for the good of ourselves, our Brothers and Sisters, can only bring peace and love

The hungry will be fed, the naked will be clothed, the sick will be nourished, the aged will be protected and the infant will be cared for.
