EOJ: Cops have until Wednesday to verify voting centres

Police personnel on the current voters' list have until Wednesday to check if their names are registered in the local government divisions in which they intend to vote.

The police will vote ahead of March 26 local government election.

The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) submitted the police voters’ list to the Police High Command more than a week ago.

Copies were subsequently sent to branch and divisional commanders for members of the force to verify their information.

The High Command has advised police personnel that requests for changes must be sent to divisional commanders by March 7 for the information to be sent to the EOJ.

Following the December 29 General Election, several police personnel complained that they were not able to vote because their names were not listed in the correct constituencies.
